Description

tried some water-drop photography inspired by Corrie whites tutorial.

Water with glycerine (to make it thick) and drop is made by a mixture of coffee and theatrical-blod.
Used 2 speedlights whereas one is bounced at the blue background and the other is @ 90° from the drop and have a magenta gel attached

captured with canon ef 50mm f/1.4

Browsing through Deviantart, you can find thousands upon thousands of photos of water droplets. Though they are gorgeous, it is a rarity that you find one that takes it to a different level and brings something new.

The crispness and clearness of this shot is absolutely fantastic. Absolutely every detail has been captured perfectly.

What makes this photograph stand out is the color and the shape. The red color is such a contrast to the intense blue and captures your eye immediately. The shape is reminiscent of a heart and I cannot imagine how hard this shot was to get just right. When dropping liquid into another liquid, you can't really demand shapes of it without having great skill and patience.

Kudos for taking a common theme and reinventing into something stunning and great to look at.
